Famous Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has told reporters that he has been feeling the pressure ahead of his fight with Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, which is to take place at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
At the moment, Hamilton is 17 points ahead of Vettel after his win at the Germany Grand Prix, but has stated that he expects Ferrari will have the upper hand at the upcoming race taking place in Hungary. Hamilton went on to add that although the pressure is higher than ever, he is not fazed by it, and that he’s looking forward to the competition.
Vettel’s loss at the German GP was caused by a crash that he suffered during the late stages of the event. Part of the reason for the mishap was due to the heavy rains and the slick tyres that the drivers were using, and Vettel lost his grip while fighting for lead with Hamilton.
Hamilton, on the other hand, saw one of his greatest performances at the German track, and cites his victory after starting at 14th place is one of the greatest wins that he’s achieved so far in his career.
Some of the pressure that Hamilton is feeling at the moment is due to the closeness of the two teams. Hamilton believes that while there certainly was pressure during last season, it wasn’t as high as it is now because Mercedes and Ferrari were balanced on the track, but that this year may be different.
