Stybar Wants To Win Paris-Roubaix

April 6, 2018 by

Zdenek Stybar is hoping that this year is his year and that a Paris-Roubaix victory will finally be his. His team manager, Patrick Lefevere has also now said that he doesn’t care who win, as long as it’s the Czech on the podium at the end of the day. Stybar is one of the Quick-Step Floors strongest hopes and he’s hoping to profit from his years of experience when he hits the cobbles.

The 32 year old has finished twice as a runner up in the Paris-Roubaix, narrowly missing a podium finish in both 2015 and 2017. He’s hopeful that this year he makes it to the top and his recent performances have highlighted just how possible this could be. He was in the lead group at the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad that fought valiantly for a win and collected top 3 resultd at Dwars door Vlaanderen, Gent-Wevelgem and E3 Harelbeke.

Stybar has openly said that this year he is in far better form than last, and that he has made mistakes in the past, and learned from them. He said that 2017 was a tough year, but one that taught him a lot and prepared him for the 2018 season in so many ways. He said that he put family first previously and his training took a back seat to his 2 year old son – something most parents would understand, but that now, he had a better rhythm and was balancing raining and his personal life far better, getting in the rides he needed and wanted to do, and completing his regime properly very time.
