EPL’s Defining Matches For The Week

October 12, 2017 by

Liverpool Vs. Manchester United – 14 October

The two giants will be facing it off at Anfield on October 14th, with Manchester United going into the match as the firm favourites.  It’s been a brilliant season so far for Manchester, having secured six victories and one draw from a total of seven Premier League matches.

Tottenham Hotspur Vs. Bournemouth – 14 October

The Spurs are currently ranked 3rd in the EPL and 5 points behind Manchester United and Manchester City.  Bournemouth is not a team that should be underestimated by any measure though, and they’re bound to be looking to draw on the Wembley curse for all its worth.

Crystal Palace Vs. Chelsea – 14 October

Defending Premier League champions Chelsea have everything to lose as they face Crystal Palace on strange turf at Selhurst Park on October 14, this after having been outplayed by Manchester City in what ended in a 1-0 home defeat for Chelsea.  Chelsea cannot afford any more mishaps if they are to keep the dream alive of successfully defending their championship title.

Burnley Vs. West Ham United – 14 October

The Hammers will be treading lightly around a very in-form Burnley side on October 14th with Burnley currently occupying sixth seat at the EPL season table.  Burnley will host West Ham at Turf Moor for this one.

Watford Vs. Arsenal – 14 October

Arsenal has not had an easy start to the season, having been defeated twice out of the three stand-offs faced in August.  September however, saw things take a turn for the better as they ended up winning six of their seven matches.  With Watford only being a single point behind Arsenal and currently in eighth position overall, Arsenal would be well advised to keep a close eye on their opponents.

Brighton And Hove Albion Vs. Everton – 15 October

The pressure is on for Everton ahead of the October 15 stand-off with Brighton and Hove Albion, after a very poor start to the EPL season.  They may find relief in the absence of Brighton’s Davy Proppper, who has been forced out of the action by a thigh injury.

Southampton Vs. Newcastle United – 15 October

Newcastle United might be facing up to Southampton sans two of their star wingers.  Both Christian Atsu and Matt Richie have had to withdraw from having been selected for their respective country’s World Cup qualifiers during last week, as a result of injuries.

Leicester City Vs. West Brom – 16 October

The boys of Leicester are most probably just praying for the end to come quickly and mercifully as they get ready to take on West Brom on October 16th.  Leicester has not had the best of Premier League seasons, having managed to put only 5 points on the scoreboard after four defeats and only a single win so far.
