Miami Dolphins Suffer Another Loss
It’s a game that became unhinged for the Miami Dolphins for many reasons, including that of having traded away running back Jay Ajayi. In many ways, Sunday night football was merely a continuation of an already shocking season for the Dolphins. Not that the Oakland Raiders had had a stellar season so far either. To say that the Raiders had had an underwhelming start to the season would be the understatement of the year.
All things equal, the Raiders did emerge victorious with a 27-24 victory over the Dolphins. And after all, a win is a win. Dolphins’ head coach Adam Gase must have felt a thousand burning Dolphins fans’ eyes on him as Miami’s struggling offense soldiered on, especially since Gase was the main driving force behind the selling of Jay Ajayi.
The certainly has paid off, but in all the wrong ways.
Green Bay Packers Fail to Impress
If the Green Bay Packers are finding anything out it’s that a good quarterback can mean the difference between the play-offs and, well, not the play-offs. The Lions chased Packers quarterback Brett Hundley in circles around the field on Monday night. A chase that ultimately resulted in a 30-17 victory for the Lions.
Hundley ended up with a personal worst of 26 for 38 for 245 yards and no touchdowns.
Matthew Stafford did quite the opposite for the Lions, busting it up at 26 for 33 for 361 yards and 2 scores. Golden Tate and Marvin Jones Jr. were mostly mere lucky beneficiaries of Stafford’s prowess. On the other hand it must be said that Marvin Jones Jr’s two touchdown catches were nothing short of impressive in a grabbing kind of way.
Perhaps the Lions may be heading towards more consistency after all, something that their fans have been patiently waiting for a long time. You know you’re in hot water when in the run-up before a game the headlines make much use of the R-word. That’s R for Rebound.
Not the most fantastic of surprises considering that the Lions had come off of three straight losses. And the element of the fantastic had seemingly even gone as far as the fans, with a record ejections and arrests for Lambeau Field for the year at 5 arrests and 15 ejections.
It would be safe to say that the moment might simply just have been too big for most, including the fans.
