It has now emerged that the Dallas Cowboys forked out a massive $2.4 million as part of a settlement to members of the team’s cheerleading squad. Several of the squad’s members have accused a senior team executive of filming them in secret at the AT&T Stadium’s locker rooms.
The voyeurism scandal reportedly involves four Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. According to one of the complainants, Cowboys senior VP for Public Relations and Communications, Richard Dalrymple, had been discovered in the act of a covert filming operation. Dalrymple allegedly filmed the cheerleading squad while they undressed following a game in 2015.
Dalrymple reportedly misused his security key-card to enter the locker room in an unauthorised manner before filming the crew with his iPhone.
The executive is furthermore also being accused of having taken an “upskirt” photograph of Charlotte Jones Anderson, the daughter of team-owner Jerry Jones. This particular incident allegedly took place during the 2015 NFL draft.
Dalrymple is reportedly denying both the allegations.
He said in a statement on Monday that those who know him all know exactly what he’s “about”. He added that while he understood the serious nature of the allegations made against him, they are false. One incident had apparently happened by mistake, and the other not at all.
According to a spokesperson for the Cowboys, despite the settlement, no wrongdoing was during the investigations into the incidents. The organisation also said it regarded the allegations in a very serious light.
