Patriots Open NFL Week 5 against Buccaneers 
This week, Friday Night Football kicks off NFL Week 5 with Florida’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on 2-1 after their opener against the Miami Dolphins got pushed back during Hurricane Irma, hosting the New England Patriots on 2-2. Both teams are third in their respective conference divisions, but betting sites are offering the Patriots at around $0.40 and the Buccaneers at $2.00 or more.
On Sunday, the Dolphins, now 1-2, host the Tennessee Titans, currently on 2-2, with the Dolphins tipped to take their first home game of the season. Also on Sunday, the Philadelphia Eagles, top of the NFC ladder on 3-1, are at home to the 2-2 Arizona Cardinals, although the Eagles are reckoned dead certs by the bookies, at barely $0.20.
The 1-3 Cincinnati Bengals are also home-team favourites against the Buffalo Bills, but since the Bills are currently top of AFC East on 3-1, don’t rule out an upset. The Carolina Panthers go to Detroit to play NFC North leaders the Lions, with both teams pretty evenly matched on 3-1 and the home side favoured marginally in the betting.
Division Leaders Clash with Steelers v Jaguars
The Pittsburgh Steelers are at the top of the AFC North ladder on 3-1, while 2-2 has been enough to keep the Jacksonville Jaguars in the lead in AFC South. The Florida team goes to Philadelphia on Sunday, with betting sites offering them at $2.40, compared to the Steelers at under $0.30.
The LA Chargers and NY Giants, both on 0-4, are bottom of the ladders in AFC West and NFC East respectively. The Giants are odds-on to win in New Jersey on Sunday, with the Chargers at $1.50 and up. The NY Jets, second in AFC East on 2-2, play the Cleveland Browns in Ohio, with both teams too close to call in the betting. Both are hovering around even money, so betting sites obviously expect more from the Browns than their 0-4 record would suggest.
The LA Rams v Seattle Seahawks betting also has both sides close to even money, and the same applies in Sunday’s Green Bay Packers vs Dallas Cowboys match, as well as the Indianapolis Colts at home to the San Francisco 49ers.
