Interim Chief Executive Officer for RA Rob Clarke recently let it be known that the association is exploring its options alongside the Australian government. He said that they are trying to find a way to create a bubble here which would let them fly in all the SANZAAR partners on condition they remained in their training bubbles. He said that he hoped that this would be possible, allowing for quarantine requirements to be met and an action-packed competition to be played.
Australia and New Zealand have been in talks for many weeks regarding the creation of a trans-Tasman bubble that would lift all restrictions on travel between the two countries. This is as we celebrate the fact that the rate of COVID-19 infections has slowed to a trickle.
New Zealand Rugby has not yet commented on the issue.
Clarke confirmed that RA has also been trying to extend the Bledisloe Cup series that pits the Wallabies against the All Blacks from the usual three Test matches to four.
