Tyson Lomano David Frizell, the professional rugby league footballer on the St. George Illawarra Dragons team has revealed that he thought that he was overreacting initially, since detailing the full extent of his burst testicle. The Dragons star lived through every man’s worst nightmare when, during the March 16 Saturday night game against the North Queensland Cowboys, Jordan Kahu accidentally kneed him in the genitals while he contested a kick in Townsville.
The State of Origin backrower looked like he was in excruciating pain, but he somehow managed to remain in play, finishing up the game’s remaining minutes on the field. It wasn’t until he left and returned to the sheds that he realised that his injury was a lot more serious than he originally thought.
He described the feeling as similar to being kicked in the testicles, with pain shooting up into his stomach. He said that it all happened so quickly and he was waiting for the pain to dissipate as it does when being kicked or hit in that area. He revealed that, as he kept playing, however, it simply got worse, and he started wondering about the actual extent of the injury. He felt he was simply overreacting, and he just kept hoping it would go away. He ended up remaining in Townsville, however, thanks to having to undergo immediate surgery after the game. But he was back around his teammates at a training session on Wednesday and hopes to return to the Dragons in two weeks’ time.
