The champions for this year will have to play at the Cook Islands later on in June, where the winner will on aggregate will later on join up with the Canadian four-team global tournament.

Japan at the moment is the Asia World Champions’ past winners have decided not to take place in this year’s games, instead opting to rather wait another year, allowing the other three Asian teams to take up the remaining slack.

Malaysia coach Lee Nyuk Fah has had this to say regarding upcoming matches, “Our programme has consisted of S&C, analysis, data, psychology, and nutrition. We also spent 16 days on an overseas tour of New Zealand, including coaching clinics from local experts and the likes of North Harbour’s Tom Coventry and former All Blacks Rodney and Filo Tiatia.”

Their campaign starts with two matches being played on home ground, which will be against Korea firstly, and then moving on to Hong Kong, both at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

Fah added further, “We need to stay motivated, hard-working, and physically and mentally prepare as well.”
