Rugby League World Cup Match Round Up 
Australia Vs. France – 3 November
The defending champions remain the firm favourites to hold on to their Rugby League World Cup title. Australia will be facing France without Johnathan Thurstan and Greg Inglis, but should still manage to impress and conquer nonetheless.
With the final played in Brisbane on 2 December, the lure of winning the World Cup on home turf should be sweet enough of a deal to drive home an opening win.
New Zealand Vs. Scotland – 4 November
New Zealand has been plagued by injuries and yet the team always manages to pull through, even on the bare necessities. All the more so against a struggling Scotland. New Zealand are able to enjoy the privilege of resting some of its better players when they go up against Scotland, and the Kiwi’s are no doubt expecting a similar level of dominance over Scotland as what they enjoyed over Samoa.
Samoa Vs. Tonga – 4 November
Samoa are very much the World Cup’s wild card, in more ways than just the conventional. And then there’s Tonga. Led by Kiwi Jason Taumalolo and Aussie Andrew Fifita, the men from Tonga are very much on the other side of the spectrum of expectation as opposed to Samoa. Tonga is a dark horse contender for a go at the semi-finals.
England Vs. Lebanon – 4 November
Wayne Bennett is pulling out the big guns, most notably in the form of Alex Whalmlsey, who will be playing his debut against Lebanon. England are the firm favourites for this one.
Italy Vs. USA – 5 November
The expectation is that Italy will secure a flying victory over the USA despite battling personal problems within the camp. The USA seems to have a more long-term goal in mind if their choice of players are anything to go by. However, the November 5th match against Italy will most probably not end up in bag USA.
Papua New Guinea Vs. Ireland – 5 November
Papua New Guinea has become a thriving rugby league nation but whether this will be enough to thwart Ireland’s dreams of playing a quarter-final against England in Melbourne, in the event that Ireland wins, is very much up in the air.
Fiji Vs. Wales – 5 November
Wales want everything from redemption to revenge and they’re going to go for all of that and more against Fiji. Coach John Kear has had to make a number of last-minute changes to the squad due to injuries, but the expectation is still that this one belongs to Wales.
