The Night Kanye West Called Sam Burgess Poor

July 22, 2020 by

Former England pro rugby league footballer and Aussie NRL star Sam Burgess has revealed how rapper-turned-presidential-hopeful Kanye West once slammed him as a “poor person” during a chance-meeting in London, England.

Burgess’ story also involves Aussie actor and long-time friend Russell Crowe, who famously revealed hilarious details about the “weird” evening in question during an interview with Fitzy and Wippa earlier this week. Crowe related in detail how Kanye west had taken down Sam Burgess with a “straight-face” diss about him being a suspected poverty case while at a London-based Chinese restaurant located directly beneath the famous Dorchester Hotel back in 2015. West had upset Burgess, said a mischievous-looking Russell Crowe.

According to Burgess’ own version of the events, he had driven all the way from Bath to Dorchester, London, for a meal and a drink with friend Russell Crowe (aka Rusty). Drinks had been flowing on the evening in question, said the NRL star, and suddenly, out of the blue, “in walked Kanye”.

West had according to Burgess simply walked right in and plonked himself down at the table alongside the NRL star and the famous actor. He then proceeded to take out his laptop and show everyone in the room his new range, Yeezy. At first Burgess says he didn’t recognise West, due to his small physical frame. He did however think it was cool to see him in person when he eventually recognised the rapper.

But some (albeit inebriated) regard for West eventually disappeared when the rapper informed him (Burgess) that he (West) planned on making clothes for “poor people”, just like him.

This after the rapper had had the gull of helping himself to the drinks and chocolate cake paid for by Burgess and Crowe.
