Plotting The Fall of the All Blacks 
Last week saw a number of Australia’s most prominent rugby coaches convene in order to plot a plan to ensure the downfall of New Zealand’s supremacy in the international rugby arena. Their global dominance as well as the Wallabies’ restoration to top-ranked rugby were the main points in lumine on the agenda. The Wallabies have not been a force to contend with since their run for the 2015 Rugby World Cup final.
Not one of the country’s 5 Super Rugby sides have managed to secure even a single victory over New Zealand this season and the Wallabies were forced to forego the Bledisloe Cup in favour of the All Blacks for the 15th successive year, in August of this year.
With that in mind to serve as a desperate driving force, coaches Michael Cheika and former test player Rod Kafer have rallied for the establishment of a National Coaching Panel in order to try and improve general playing standards as well as formulate a strategy with which to effectively stop the All Blacks in their tracks.
Coaches met in Sydney on Wednesday past and have received leadership training from the Sydney University of Technology, first and foremost with the upcoming October 21st match between the All Blacks and the Wallabies in mind. The Australian Institute of Sport is said to have been an important role player in the training.
Speaking to the press, Kafer said that people had started saying that the time was coming that something different would have to be done on the back of 15 years worth of successive Bledisloe Cup failures, and that the collective decision was made that now was that time. In view of the fact that the Wallabies had one only a single match out of the last 18 stand-offs with the All Blacks, that time had possibly arrived some time ago already.
Kafer said that the forum would also be bringing in the help and input of assistant coaches and team managers to try and work out a way to boost the Wallabies’ overall performance.
The Road Ahead
Looking on the bright side, the Wallabies did manage to sure a victory over Argentina last Saturday, thereby securing the overall second place finish in this year’s Rugby Championship. They will play the All Blacks on October 21st in Brisbane during the final dead rubber Bledisloe Cup match.
Hopefully the fruits of the labour of the coaches’ convention will have come into season by then.
