Scotland have reportedly recalled defenders Jack Hendry and Scott McKenna, goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin, and striker Oli McBurnie for their Nations League venture to play Israel, as well as for their planned friendly match against Portugal.
Centre-back McKenna and Swansea striker McBurnie will be returning to the team after having missed the team’s matches against Albania and Belgium. Sunderland keeper Jon McLaughlin will be taking over from Jordan Archer. At the moment there is no room for Hibernian winger Martin Boyle, but that may change in the future.
The 25-year-old player may be called by the Socceroos for a friendly game against Kuwait, despite the interest fro Alex McLeish, boss for Scotland. Boyle, who was born in Aberdeen, and whose father was originally from Sydney, only needs to commit to Australia fully once he has taken part in an international match.
Scotland, who recently beat Albania 2-0 during their opener in the UEFA Nations League, are set to travel to take on Israel in Haifa, before returning home to face Portugal in a friendly game, which will be taking place three days later.
Tom Cairney, Fulham midfielder, is missing from the roster once again after he had to pull out of his previous squad due to an injury. McLeish has insisted that his absence is nothing sinister, and that he may be back on the team in the future. Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack and Callum Patterson have also been dropped from the team.
