Final Results: 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games

The final results for the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Games are out:  Aussie Tia-Clair Toomey has officially been crowned fittest woman on earth, with Mat Fraser (USA) walking away victorious in the men’s division.  The 2017 title is Fraser’s second consecutive title, and his fourth appearance on the podium – also in consecutive fashion.

Canadian Brent Fikowski finished in second overall place, and newbie Ricky Garard finished third.

It’s a third time podium appearance for Aussie Tia-Clair Toomey, and what makes the victory ever sweeter, is that it’s also the very first individual win at the CrossFit Games for a competitor from Australia.

In actual fact, Australia was well represented at this year’s CrossFit Games, with Toomey having all but marginally edged her way past fellow Australian Kara Webb.  2017 is a year of personal bests for Webb too, with this year being her very first podium finish ever – and certainly not for a lack of trying during previous years.

Annie Thorisdottir from Iceland finished in third position in the women’s division.

Toomey The Face Of Versatility

Tia-Clair Toomey also made headlines at this year’s Rio Olympics – having represented Australia in the weightlifting event.

Toomey commenced this year’s CrossFit Games with a fantastic performance and win in the Run Swim Run event – comprising of a 500m swim sandwiched between two 1.5 mile runs.  She followed through by finishing the next couple of events in admirable fashion, and really hit the ball home by winning the Muscle-Up Clean Ladder Work Out and managing an eighth position finish in the gruelling Fibonacci Final.

Fraser Fittest Man On Earth For Good Reason

The fitness-god from Vermont has out-done and out-met all expectations by finishing the 2017 Games in record-breaking fashion.  Event organisers have crowned the 2017 victory as being the most dominant win in the history of the CrossFit Games.

Fraser finished 216 points ahead of runner-up Brent Fikowski and nearly 300 points ahead of Ricky Garard.

Just like his female counterpart, Fraser finished first in the Muscle-Up Clean Ladder Workout.  He also finished in second place in both Strong Man’s Fear and the Fibonacci Final.

Mat Fraser clinched his very first CrossFit Games title in July 2016 – with 2017 being his second consecutive title win.  2017 is also Fraser’s fourth consecutive podium finish.

Fraser certainly has earned the title of being the fittest man on earth in the most admirable fashion.
