Controversial bad-mouthing cricketing batsman Marlon Samuels has made yet another degrading reference to the life partners of England’s national cricket players. And this only days after getting slammed publicly for an ugly remark made about the wife of New Zealand-born cricketer Ben Stokes.
Jamaica-born Samuels, formerly a batsman for the West Indies, this week took to social media and photo sharing platform Instagram to respond to certain comments posted to the platform by Stokes. The Kiwi-born all-rounder recently posted about not wishing to impose 14 days spent in isolation together with Samuels on his “worst enemy”.
This clearly got Samuels instantly hot under the collar. He wasted no time drafting a response along the lines of no white boy getting away with “dissing” him without facing the consequences. And to the controversial player’s mind, consequences clearly refer to time spent turning Stokes’ wife into a “Jamaican”.
Stokes and Samuels have a history of personal rivalry on the field – as does Samuels and Australian cricketer Shane Warne.
Cricketing great Michael Vaughan has in the meantime sided with Stokes by referring to Samuels’ comments about the all-rounder’s wife as “appalling” – to which Samuels promptly responded by ordering the respected sports veteran to shut his “f***ing mouth”.
The rivalry between Samuels and Stokes dates all the way back to a Test series played in 2015. A batsman at the time for the West Indies, Samuels could be seen taunting Stokes on the pitch by saluting the Kiwi following a dismissal.
