Nathan Charles Buckley, Australian Football League coach as well as former player and mentor, wants things to get back to normal and is making no bones about how we can get there. He recently tweeted a blunt message to his 60 000 Twitter followers regarding what we should all be doing if we are ever going to come out of lockdown.
Buckley shared a link to the new COVIDSafe App launched by the Australian government which is being met with scepticism by many over its possible use for data collection and people’s privacy being invaded.
Gregory Andrew Hunt, Minister of Health as of January this year, has stated that the application has one job to do. If you are positive, that information will be provided to public health authorities. No one else will ever have access, he says, and the process is a voluntary one.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has added his voice to the mix, pleading with Australians to download COVIDSafe. It helps trace who coronavirus-positive cases have been in contact with and he says it is a vital step to getting us back to normal.
Buckley is 100% on board with this and has messaged that everyone should be following suit. His tweet said that, if you want liberty and freedom returned to you, downloading the COVIDSafe app should be your priority. He even injected some levity into the situation, saying that he has done so despite his questionable search history!
