New Eyewitness Emerges In Tigers’ Club Brawl

May 14, 2021 by

New eyewitnesses have now come forward in the AFL’s investigation of a scuffle involving two Tigers players at YoYo nightclub. According to the latest eyewitness information, both Shai Bolton and Daniel Rioli remained outside the venue they allegedly got booted from for 30 minutes last weekend.

The scuffle was apparently started after Rioli’s girlfriend became the victim of inappropriate behaviour during an incident on the night. The outcome of the brawl was a black eye for Rioli and a broken wrist for Bolton – which injury could see him sidelined for several weeks.

Although the AFL launched an official investigation into the matter, a prominent news reporter has alleged that the league remains largely sceptical of the “facts” at hand following the altercation – and in particular of Richmond’s version of the events.

The same news reporter has alluded to the fact that the fight inside the club had got aggressive after the duo became offended by an unnamed man’s inappropriate behaviour and gestures to Rioli’s other half.

Both Tigers players were apparently asked to leave the club following the brawl. Initial news reports insinuated that this had spiked much duress from Rioli, who had supposedly launched a lengthy argument with a security guard while Bolton tried to re-enter through the YoYo’s doors.

Though certainly not an ideal situation to have gotten themselves into, Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said this week that Rioli was in fact trying to calm the situation down and acting as reasonable as could be expected given the situation.
