March 6, 2019 by

England has outclassed their opponents India and have gone on to win their first women’s Twenty20 International by a total of 41 runs. Tammy Beaumont claimed 62, while Heather Knight took 40 from only 20 deliveries, pushing the tourists to 160-4.

Spinner Linsey Smith took two wickets with two balls, reducing India to 46-6, with the hosts eventually trailing to 119-6. England has the chance to earn total victory for the three-match series for their upcoming second game After they lost the one-day series 2-1, England’s best hope was in the shortest format, and it’s shown as Knight’s team heave been superior in every department so far.

Their performance was that much more spectacular due tot he fact that the team was missing some players. Sophie Ecclestone had returned home with a broken hand, while spinner Laura Marsh has an injury to her side, while Amy Jones is currently ill. Georgia Elwiss has also been forced out of the remainder of the series and their next trip to Sri Lanka due to a stress fracture that she has suffered in her neck.

England currently has a superb batting line-up, and they were given a fairly strong start thanks to Danielle Wyatte and Beaumont, who added 89 during their 11.3 overs. Shikha Pandey and spinner Poonam Yadav, who gave their team a strong start, India’s attack suffered, while newly appointed captain Smriti Mandhana seemed to be panicking throughout their entire game.
