England beat the West Indies by eight wickets in a perfect performance that has seen them secure a 3-0 series whitewash. Captain Eoin Morgan’s side took the hosts for just 21 in St Kitts before chasing that score down with 57 balls to spare. The visitors bowled their opponents out for 45 to win their second T20 by 137 runs, having claimed their first match by four wickets.
Talking about the victory, Morgan said that it was as close as they could have gotten to a perfect performance, and that throughout the T20 series they have played extremely well. David Willey took 4-7, which are the second best figures for an English bowler in the T20’s after Chris Jordan’s 4-6. Willey dominated the West Indies while Jonny Bairstow hit 37 to help his team push to the victory.
Adding to his statement, Morgan explained that what they had seen in their last few games was individuals standing up and producing outstanding performances, going on to say that this time it was Dave Willey, and his performance showed how he played with deceivingly with his variations and how he took advantage of a slow, tired wicket.
World number ones England tied the five-match ODI series 2-2 while playing against the West Indies, who are ranked at ninth, after a collapse in the final match see them make 113 batting first. The English team are now preparing for the World Cup to be played at home.
