There is a third of the season left for the 2018 LPGA Tour, with 22 tournaments already completed, played in seven different countries. The average age of LPGA winners is 24 years old, and winners average around 16 events won by the time they hit 25.
The season started with success coming from Brittany Lincicome, where she defended her title at the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic, becoming the fourth player to achieve that goal within the last four years. She then went on to join Anna Nordqvist after claiming victory in New Jersey, as well as Brooke Henderson in Oregon, and Shanshan Feng in Japan.
The four travelled oversees to witness a once-in-a-career win by Jin Young Ko while playing at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open. Ko is the first player in 67 years to win at her first start, tying with legendary player Beverly Hanson.
Pernilla Lindberg completed a 30-foot birdie putt during the eighth play-off against 19-time winner Inbbe Park. Lindberg captured her first career at a major championship at the ANA inspiration.
The leading player at the moment is Ariya Jutanugarn, who has been dominating the season so far. Her stat card at the moment reads 12 top-10 finishes in just 20 starts. She’s won from behind, in play-offs, and when entering the final round.
She has finished in the top 4 of the majors players this year, including a victory at the U.S. Women’s Open Victory.
